There is in us an instinct for newness, for renewal, for a liberation of creative power.
We seek to awaken in ourselves a force which really changes our lives from within.
And yet the same instinct tells us that this change is a recovery of that which
is deepest, most original, most personal in ourselves. To be born again is not to become somebody
else, but to become ourselves.
—Thomas Merton
Each June, as the congregational year winds down, we have an opportunity to reflect on the many who serve this congregation. So many members at UUCSR give of their time, talent, and treasure to move the mission of the congregation forward—to build a more just and joyful world. Take a moment to give appreciation and gratitude for all the events, programs, gatherings, music, and Worship Services that have enriched our community. Without all the volunteers and staff we could not have done so much this year—or any year.
Along with gratitude and appreciation, we move forward with the “instinct for newness, for renewal, for liberation of creative power.” Knowing all that has been done in the past, we can be confident in the ability to do even more great things going forward. Take a moment to thank one another for the gifts each brings to the congregation.
Renew our connections and commitments and our covenant— reflect on all that has been and look forward to more wonderful years together.
With faith,
Rev. Dr. Natalie Fenimore
