SOCIAL AND RECREATION
Virtual fitness classes, dance, Tai Chi, and yoga classes are offered on North Hempstead TV. Channel 18 and 63 on Optimum and Channel 46 on Verizon.

-Transportation for food shopping
Door-to-door taxi service is available to North Hempstead residents for local grocery shopping. Appointments are made by calling 516.869.6311 or 311. There is no cost for this service. To enroll in this food shopping program, a senior ID is necessary and can be obtained by calling 516.869-6317.
-Non-emergency medical appointments
Taxi service is provided for travel to medical appointments at very discounted rates. This service is available seven days a week. An aide may ride for free.
-Transportation is available to town Centers.
-Buses provide transportation from each Center to local food stores.
-CarFit provides services to promote safe driving. Specialists help identify the need for adaptive devices, especially if a health condition could affect driving skills. 516.869-6311
