How to renew your Membership:

What does it mean to be a Member?

• Membership is a meaningful connection to shared community. When you become a member, you agree to nurture and support our shared vision and values.
• Members affirm and promote the 8 Unitarian Universalist Principles that we have adopted together as a congregation.
• Members agree to be in covenant with each other, to work alongside each other in search of spiritual growth, and to build a more just world.
• Membership at Shelter Rock includes the commitment to being a part of our democratic process; members are able to vote on congregational matters and build grassroots initiatives.
• Members experience reciprocity of care through our caring programs, intergenerational friendships, and space to truly belong

Why is renewal important?

• Renewal allows us to be clear about our membership for each new congregational year: now is when we confirm membership for July 01, 2022–June 30, 2023.
• Membership Renewal allows each member to reaffirm, each year, their commitment to their covenantal community.
• Because our Unitarian Universalist faith is covenantal (meaning that we choose to be together for meaning and purpose), annual Membership Renewal lets us know who is active in our congregation.
• The financial commitment each household pledges to the congregation directly increases the amount we have to spend on programs in a congregational year—and gives us greater capacity to try out new ideas.
