White UU activists often stumble when engaging people of color in the Black Lives Matter movement. Why? Because we/they do not yet understand what "whiteness," "white privilege," “white fragility,” and “white supremacy” are in the context of this work. Come explore these topics and learn how white activists can be effective in this critically important civil rights movement.

We will be using the text, White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo. If you wish to purchase a copy from UUCSR, let Sharyn Esposito know when you register. Cost is $ 14.50.

Facilitated by Rev. Ned Wight and Members of the UUCSR Racial Justice Task Force.
