Sunday morning is when the whole congregation comes together for religious education and worship. Through spoken word, music, silence and meditation you are welcome to reflect upon the events of our lives and the events of our world in sacred space. During worship we cultivate fresh awareness and insights for our living, and share our sorrows and joys. In communal worship, we seek to discern our individual calling to help what is good in this world grow and thrive. Together we celebrate the gift of life and the interdependent web of which we are a part.
Services are held Sundays at 11:00 a.m., with slightly more casual services from July 1 through Labor Day. Childcare for infants and toddlers and religious education for children and youth is provided. Video recordings of Worship Services are available to view here.
Soulful Sundown services are held on the second Friday evening of each month, September through July. Soulful Sundown offers an informal, worship service at 7:30 p.m. that blends the spoken word and a wide selection of contemporary music. Dancing is always an option. Services are preceded by a meal at 6:30 p.m. and are followed by an all-ages coffee house starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. Soulful Sundown is family-friendly but free childcare is also provided.
Shelter Rock members may have their sorrows and joys included in the Pastoral Prayer during Sunday morning services. If you would like to be acknowledged during the Sunday service, please contact Kimberly Rossister, the Assistant to the Ministers, or call 516.472.2941.
Additional special services mark rites of passage and celebrations.
