As we close Women’s History Month, we are happy to share news from a New Jersey-based grantee that organizes immigrant workers, the Education and Training Institute. On March 8th, International Women’s Day, this amazing Veatch grantee—which helped to win a Domestic Workers Bill of Rights in New Jersey, and is also fighting for just immigration reform—organized a women-led march through the streets of Newark, NJ. According to a Facebook post following the event, the assembled group demanded “respect, equal pay for equal work, renewal of deferred action for workers, full compliance of NJ worker bills of rights” as a way to push forward rights for women and immigrant workers in the state.
