Green Sanctuary is sponsoring the 2023 Summer Program to Fight Hunger and Climate Change organized by Rewild Long Island.  That organization is a non-profit based in Port Washington which is encouraging property owners to convert lawn area into pollinator friendly wildflower gardens.  The summer program sends high school students to UUCSR every Tuesday morning during the summer to perform various gardening tasks such as weeding, mulching and planting to nurture our native plantings.  In the attached picture, congregants Jim Peters and Kris and Larry Perlstein help the Rewild interns weed the native plantings in the patio.  Anyone who would like to participate in this very worthwhile program should contact Dana Gumb.
